Let's first talk about the celebration once the new year hit - there were fireworks! A few animals were out and about admiring them. Nate and I had a little mini-bash. The next morning, I got a bunch of cards in the mail from everyone around town! Tortimer gave me a New Year's shirt. It's got a cow on it since it's the Year of the Cow! I like it a lot.
Oh right, my house! It's huge. I actually haven't done a thing to the upstairs yet; I really don't know what I want to do with it. Should I apply a theme or try to complete a set? Actually, yeah. I think I might try to get the snowman set and throw it all upstairs. My own little winter wonderland!
Got a new villager to replace Pecan: Elise the Snooty Monkey. Even though she's a snoot, I'm gonna try to keep her around since this is the first time I've had a little monkey in my town. AND she has a tanuki statue in her house. I'm gonna try to coax it away from her. >:D Did you notice my new outfit in that last picture? I got a cute little bear hat! Those things on my cheeks are cucumbers. Dunno why that's an accessory, but it was funny, so I bought it. Reminds me of Kapp'n and his cucumber obsession!
'Round town, my apple and peach orchards have grown in. The pears should be ready tomorrow and I still haven't planted the cherries. Right now I'm going around town and deciding which kind of fruit I should put in place of all of the stray apple trees around town. I'm marking the ground with simple designs so that I won't forget once I start choppin'.
Poppy used to be my favorite villager, but I fell into a pitfall today and Poppy just walked on by without offering to help. THANKS A LOT. So I decided to pay attention to a different villager, one who I think would care if I was flailing for help - Joey! It's his birthday today, so I sent him a little something. He's probably gonna move out soon, though, which is fine. He's been here long enough. And boy, we can always count on Roscoe to completely drag you down. ;P Silly old horse.

Let's wrap up a few loose ends before the new year. First, my orange grove is ripe and ready for the pickin'. My apple orchard will mature tomorrow and I've got peach and pear orchards growing as we speak. I'm liking this little layout idea of mine, and since I planted the apple orchard up near Bud's house, I'm going to replace all of the apple trees around town with foreign fruit so that I can generate more cash flow. I actually went around and put those foreign trees to good use today by selling all of that delicious fruit. I was able to finally pay off my loan, so I'll have that second story tomorrow. My house needs to be rearranged badly, so this will be nice. I also discovered the other day that I'm allowed to change the bed in the attic, so I stuck that weird pineapple bed up there.
In town news, Pecan moved out a few days ago and nobody has come in to take her place yet. I won't be trying for the perfect town rating until after I can get all of my groves and orchards planted. Once I see how many pear trees grow tomorrow, I'll plant the cherry orchard and then I'll be done with that project. I found some blue pansies next to my the other day - what a surprise! I didn't know that hybrid existed. :) Pascal also took a dive yesterday after trading my scallop for a powder keg. o_O Ooohhh yeah, and SURPRISE! I caught a coelacanth! Yayyy, those suckers usually get away from me, but not this time!
The New Year's Eve celebration is tonight and Tortimer is already counting down. I'll be watching the fireworks with my animal friends tonight!
Let's end the year on a goofy note.

Just a small update to describe my MASTER PLAN for the fruit in my town. There are a few areas in town that are free from signposts and houses, so I'll be filling those spaces with groves and orchards. I planted the orange grove today (I'm praying that none of the trees die). It's located in the empty space that's closest to the beach, since Florida is known for their oranges and they're the southern-most state. The other groves and orchards will be planted accordingly - peaches next since one thinks of Georgia, cherries next since they're Utah's state fruit, and then pears up top since they're Oregon's state fruit. Apples would have been the northern-most orchard since they're Vermont's state fruit, but they're my native fruit and I'm not sure I'll have enough room to make an apple orchard. If I do, I'll definitely plant one!
And what are all these "states" I'm talking about? Oh, just stuff that exists in a far-off land. :)

I am soooo happy that Jingle visits Nagisuke!! Even when I lived in Degrassi, I'd still travel back to Matoland on December 24th just to meet up with that strange reindeer every year. :) It looks like I can just stay settled in Nagisuke for the festivities from now on, though.
I was out and about a little bit before 8 pm, but once the chimes dinged, a mysterious voice said this. And so began the search for Jingle! I found him after about 5 minutes. He introduced himself and then gave me a gift! They were Jingle shelves. So hmm, one present per person, right? Makes a lot of sense and it's fair! But this is where I got crafty...
I went home and changed clothes. Jingle always had a problem with remembering people if they changed their appearance. While he was giving me my first present, Jingle mentioned that he had to sneak into people's houses to leave them presents, so I started checking empty houses. It sure is scary being in an animal's dark house all alone. I ended up finding Jingle all the way across town this time. My disguise seemed to work, as he gave me another present after a bit of hesitation (he thought he recognized me). The present ended up being Jingle wallpaper. :3
I was thinking of calling it quits for the night, but I really wanted to catch Jingle sneaking around inside someone's house. I changed again and quickly found him lurking inside Roscoe's house. Having then tricked him out of a Jingle couch, I left him alone so that he could finish his job in peace and retired for the night. There are many more pieces of the Jingle set that I need to obtain, but I'm happy with grabbing just a few every year. It's been a tradition since 2002, after all!
Hope everyone else had a good holiday. :)

First thing to report: cool equipment. I shot down a golden slingshot the other day. It shoots 3 pellets at once, which will be useful for shooting Gulliver out of the sky. If only he flew by more often! I've only seen him once at 3 in the morning. And here was another surprise I got this afternoon - I got a letter from someplace called the Posy Farm thanking me for buying their seeds. Their gift was a silver watering can. Sweet! Dunno what it's good for (apparently reviving red turnips is one thing), but it's neat to get unexpected gifts in the mail.
Next, town stuff: I AM GROWING FRUIT TREES. Many, many fruit trees. This serves 2 purposes - it boosts my town rating and it's also an easy money source with foreign fruit being worth 500 bells each. It's easier to go and quickly shake down 50 trees full of fruit than it is to fish for hours and get the same amount of money. I've got 'em growing around my house since I guess the grass is NEVER gonna grow back. I'm also planting lots of palm trees near the beach. I got a cute little peninsula of palmy paradise happenin' here. Just how exactly are those palm trees surviving in freezing temps?
Now we're up to cool STUFF. I shot down a koopa shell and a ? block. These Mario items are pretty easy to get, but I'm not sure if I want to waste my top floor with them. I might have to ask a pawn to move in so that I can use their house as my own personal museum. I also bought a pineapple bed from Bud, so I created a little yellow corner to help boost the feng shui. Oh yeah! I also got a pinwheel from the prize guy. I think the bunny balloons are my favorite out of all his prizes, though. I shall try to collect all of the colors.
Snowman update: I really love the snowman stuff, as you can tell, so I've been perfecting my snowmanning abilities. It's hard to build snowmen at night because the dung beetles will start pushing the snowballs around when you're not looking. In an attempt to thwart their rolly-rolly ways, I wedged a giant snowball between two trees so I could go hunt for the other one. A stupid dung beetle was still able to move it around, so the snowman somehow went through Harry's fence! He was happy with how he turned out, he just couldn't express it with words. XD And that one sent me a Snowman in the mail. Weird, but it'll be funny to put him on display in July. :B
Whew, better end this before I put you readers to sleep! I leave you with a bit of good news: Pecan is most likely moving out!

Whoops, been nearly a week since I last wrote something, so I've got a lot of pics to show off. Let's start with this freakin' sweet aurora borealis that appeared on Saturday. So beautiful! And now that the snow is sticking, I can make snowmen! My first one was a bust, and so was my second one, but the one I made yesterday was perfect! I received a snowman lamp in the mail today, so I took down my mush lamp since that's more of a fall thing. Now that I have this lamp, though, I'm very tempted to try for the entire set, but I'm so terrible at making snowmen, haha.
Villager update: we have a new resident named Pecan. She replaced the snooty squirrel Blaire, so what type of villager is she? ANOTHER snooty squirrel. >:( Guess I'll be ignoring her too. And I'm a little worried about Harry. He got rid of the festive tree I sent him and replaced it with a creepy gyroid. I've heard stories of those things trying to control people, so I wonder if it's even safe to talk to him now!
And after living in Nagisuke for 3 weeks and visiting the city everyday, I finally met the prize guy yesterday. I asked for bubbles and they're mighty fun! And just my luck, he was back again todaaay~ So I asked for a bunny balloon this time. He gave me an orange one. I like the way it trails behind me when I run!
On the home front, I've been trying to stock my house full of lucky items and arrange things according to feng shui. I found a lucky frog at Nook's today, so I snatched it up. Dunno if it's necessarily a "lucky item", but I like it anyway! I still haven't found a good wallpaper/carpet combo that I like, but I'm living with my mismatched choice for now.
Oh yeah, the new bridge was finished today. Right next to my house, as you can see. I guess it's in a good enough place. And hey, I produced another accidental hybrid today: pink cosmos! So far, my only hybrids are pink.
Whew, that's enough for now. Nook is closed tomorrow for remodeling, so I won't have much to do. Maybe I'll plant more trees (speaking of which, I now have all foreign fruit growing in my town).

Yaaaayyyy the snow has stuck to the ground! Everything is so beauuuutiful. :D And then I took a peek around town and discovered my new peaches! Now I can plant more all around town and help to balance out the millions of apples. My orange tree is growing and I just planted a pear tree, so if that one grows, I'll finally have all of the fruit available growing in my town. :D And I acquired them all by sending apples to animals around town for many days.
All this snow got me in a festive mood. Someone sent me a Jingle shirt in the mail, and then the Able Sisters were conveniently selling the festive hat today! I also threw on some cool shades and came up with this look. I need to get my shoes shined back to white, but that skunk wasn't in the city today. If I can manage to get white or black shoes, my look will be complete. :)
I haven't had anyone come and take Blaire's place yet since she only moved out this morning, but I'm excited to welcome whoever it might be. I was also messing around with the camera at Bud's house and somehow got this hilarious shot. Haha, embarrassing, but it kinda looks like I'm surfing on his beach chair. XD
Oh yeah, that bridge is finally getting built, but they only let me choose from three ridiculous locations - they were all really close to the other two bridges and I need one far away from both of them. UGH. :( It's better than nothing, I just wish I hadn't wasted 200,000 bells on such a lame deal. But that's 2 goals completed, so I need to set some more. I'll sleep on it.

I have completed a goal from my list: Blaire is moving out!! I ignored her, didn't send her any letters, and refused to give her new catchphrases or buy her old crap, so now she's leaving. It seems cruel, but she's annoying and rude and there's nothing wrong with wanting a better neighbor.
Augh, but my grass is disappearing because I guess I walk along the same paths everyday. Well what else can I do when I come out of my house? There are no sidewalks in Nagisuke. :( So that had me a bit depressed because now my town is getting super ugly, so plucked up a bunch of flowers and planted them all around my house. It's not perfect, but it'll do. Speaking of flowers, though, I accidentally created a pink rose, though it looks more white than pink when it's planted. Still, my first flower hybrid!
Nook finally stocked a slingshot a few days ago and I shot my first present out of the air: a fire flower! It flashes colors and makes a little noise when you touch it. And here's another cool thing: Roscoe was in the Roost when K.K. Slider was playing his set. I've never seen a fellow villager down in the Roost before, so that was neat.
Ah! And I've been sending apples as presents to animals around town, and a few of them have sent back some foreign fruit! I've got two peach trees and a cherry tree growing, and I just planted an orange tree today so I hope that one grows too. I'm also lining the beach with many coconut trees.
I can't think of a good way to end this, so here's another pic: Yo WHAT?!

Nook finally upgraded to a Nook 'n Go! Now there is more selection and he's finally selling saplings. His store hours also changed; he's open from 7 am to 1 am. SO CONVENIENT! But I know it'll change once he upgrades again, so that really sucks. All the best fish are swimming around at night, and my house is too small for me to store many of them without a basement. :/ But I managed to upgrade my status to bronze member, but I don't really think I benefit from it. I got a Nook's Cranny model out of it, though.
Nook is also stocking holiday items now, so I'm trying to give everyone in town a festive tree. I already sent one to Nate and I ordered two more for other people that I should send out soon. I have a big festive tree in my house, which is uglier than the smaller tree, but I also want LOTS of good stuff from Jingle, so I'm keeping the bigger tree just in case. I'm so jealous of Poppy! Someone made me deliver a Jingle shirt to her and she loves it. Look at how cute it is! I want it.
Hmm! So I managed to sneak into Resetti's disgusting bachelor pad on Tuesday night. I got him to give me a silver shovel, and I have yet to figure out the benefits of it. I buried my regular shovel with it and ended up with a golden shovel the next day, but who knows if it's even worth it!

Had quite a busy day today. While I was out doing my morning rounds (watering plants, digging up fossils, etc), Nate challenged me to a hide-n-seek game. I agreed thinking he wouldn't follow through, but then he gathered up two more people and I had 10 minutes to find them. It started snowing as I was looking for them and I was so overjoyed!! I've been waiting for it to snow, but I had no time to take in the sights. I only managed to find two of them, though. Where the heck was Sally hiding??
The Able Sisters had the green zap helmet in stock today and I had bought the shirt the other day, so I got the helmet and tried them both on. Not really my style, so I didn't keep them on for long.
I did a lot of fishing today. Mostly in the ocean, where I caught many interesting fish. I tried to find a coelacanth when it started snowing again later that night, but no such luck. Blaire also showed how much of a GENIUS she is. It really stopped snowing? Really?
It's the first day of December! No more mushrooms, but I hope the snow starts sticking soon. I love the way the town looks when it's covered in snow.

Haven't had much time to mess around town lately. Right now I'm working on donating 200,000 bells to the town fund so that I can get another bridge built. The two bridges I have now are in really inconvenient places, so it would be great if I could get one right in the middle of the river. And is it just me or is Nook paying a lot less for fish now?
I saw a present floating in the air and I was really hoping it would get caught in a tree like they used to do in Matoland. No such luck, so it looks like I'll have to wait until Nook stocks a slingshot or something. Very sad indeed.
Thursday was the Harvest Festival and I only had time to get maybe 5 items from Franklin. I thought it was cute how he tried to hide behind stuff around town. I always saw him since he peeked around the corner every few seconds. Silly Franklin! But he got away safe and sound. The nerve of Tortimer inviting him over just so he could cook him! I have half a mind to make turtle soup out of that old geezer just to give him a taste of his own medicine.
I met up with Kapp'n down in the cafe today, but as you can see, I didn't have enough bells for cup of coffee, haha. Too much donating. Kapp'n is kinda creepy, though. He's always hitting on me whenever he drives me to the city, but I guess it's nice to be appreciated? I dunno, it would be great if he toned it down a bit.
I haven't decided on a hairstyle I like yet. Right now it's kinda sassy and pink but I'll try something else tomorrow. I don't want to go back to the old ponytail that I always wore in Degrassi.

The day started off rainy, which I loved. I quickly headed to Nook's and bought a fishing rod, a net, and a shovel. The first fish I caught was a koi! They're sorta rare and worth 2000 bells, so I sold that sucker since I totally forgot to donate it to the museum. I then hunted for a few mushrooms. I haven't been mushroom hunting since I lived in Matoland! Mushrooms just didn't seem to grow in Degrassi. I found two elegant mushrooms which are worth 10,000 bells! I also picked up a forest wall somehow. I hope I can get the entire mush set before November is over!
I then headed to the city to get a new hairstyle. I must have still been half-asleep because it came out looking HIDEOUS!! I'm gonna try for a better one tomorrow, so I covered myself up with a hat from a pattern I found at Mabel and Sabel's. I also listened in on a few animals' conversations. Joey was talking to Poppy and he started getting real shy, so I thought he was about to ask her on a date, but instead he said this. What a weirdo!! I also saw Pete walking around making deliveries. I hardly ever saw him in Degrassi, so it was nice to chat with him.
I decided to check out Gracie's store in the city and found this gorgeous hat that totally doesn't fit my style, but I bought it anyway since I needed a better cover for my bad haircut. It is quite elegant. It also seemed to have a huge effect on Harry.
I spent the rest of the day doing odd jobs, donating to the museum, and making enough money to pay off my loan. I wonder how big the houses get here.
That's enough for now; see you soon!

I'm on the move again! I spent a few years in Degrassi, and now I just settled into a new town called Nagisuke. It's cool that Rover pronounced the name correctly, that doesn't happen very often.
I picked the house that was closest to the museum since I know I'm gonna spend a lot of time filling that place up. I kinda wanted the house by the beach, but it's a hassle getting to it since there aren't any bridges nearby and it's surrounded by cliffs. I'm not too thrilled about the layout of my town right now, so I hope I can change it.
Tom Nook was already there, yet again. I think he might have clones or something. Just as snotty as ever, but I planted the flowers and trees around my house instead of his store, and I also didn't write exactly what he told me to write in the letter and the bulletin board. What's he gonna do about it? He never leaves the store anyway. ;P
When I finished my part-time job with him, he closed his store since it was past 10 pm. How lame. :( I wanted to buy that fishing rod and watering can that I saw in there. I hope the fishing rod is there again tomorrow since I spend most of my time fishing.
Since all of the stores in town were closed, I took the bus to the city, but most of the stores there were closed too. Only weird and shady stores were open, so I guess I'll have to try my luck again tomorrow. This kinda sucks since I'm a night owl, but I'll change if I have to.
So there wasn't much else to do besides have a cup of coffee with my main man, Brewster. I had to shake some trees to get the 200 bells needed to buy a cup, but boy was it ever worth it.
